Channel 606

Guest Contributor Guidelines

Channel 606 is a group of prolific creators of content that focuses on the revelation of universal reality found in The Urantia Book.

We welcome guest contributions to our blog according to the following guidelines

Our Purpose

We have gathered to achieve the following goals:

  • To provide a centralised and largely exclusive location for the Urantia community to access our work.
  • To provide a platform which can attract people new to the Revelation and interested in its concepts and themes, to serve as a resource.
  • To challenge ourselves to continually raise the production and quality of our content to at least a ‘broadcast’ level.

Our core aspiration is to inspire, to inform, and to motivate.

Formats

We accept the following written formats for submissions to our website:

  • Articles and opinion pieces
  • Results of relevant research findings and/or discoveries
  • Book & film reviews
  • Quotes: (must include a min. 300 word summary/reflection)
  • Links to previously published work: (must include a min. 300 word summary)

Please see the Submission Guidelines tab for submission details.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions should be original to the author, preferably not published elsewhere. Content published elsewhere can be submitted as a Link post, and must be clearly labeled as so.
  • All submissions will be screened for suitability and relevance to the Channel 606 message.
  • Any media to be included must include source information. (see Media Format Submissions below).
  • First time contributors must include a brief bio, and an optional recent headshot (make sure your entire head is in the image- min size 400x400px).
  • Published contributors will be automatically subscribed to Channel 606 mailing lists and newsletters.
  • If your submission mentions organisations, businesses, or companies in which you have a vested interest, we require you to disclose as much to the audience.
  • We do not pay guest contributors for their occasional articles.
  • The author retains copyright, but Channel 606 may reprint your piece, with full attribution, and use it in Channel 606 products and promotion.
  • Articles should offer clear advice, takeaways, and points of view that are easily categorised within the main categories of Channel 606. Bullet points are fine, meandering text is not.
  • Include relevant links in parenthesis, next to the words to be linked (i.e., do not embed the links).
  • Submissions will be gratefully accepted in Google Doc format, but Word, Pages, or .rtf formats are also acceptable. (No .pdf files please).
  • DO NOT embed images into the documents you submit, please send them separately. ( see Media Format Submission below )

Joining Channel 606

Anyone hoping to join the Channel 606 team of creators will be measured against the following criteria:

  • Is your content broadcast quality at 4K resolution
  • Is your workflow heavily or completely based on AI
  • Are you willing to host exclusive content on Channel 606

** Channel 606 will not publish creators or content which rely exclusively or heavily on AI. A suitable use of AI will include character consistency, as well as environmental/background consistency.

A good rule of thumb is that we are looking for professional podcast, TV shows, or movies; not YouTube videos.

Why a Subscription?

There are two reasons why we have chosen a subscription model for Channel 606:

  • to cover the costs of setting up and running the platform.
  • as a means to generate our own stream of funding to enable us to continue producing and publishing content to the quality levels we aspire to and that the Revelation deserves.

100% of subscription revenue will go to platform costs and to supporting the Channel 606 team in their projects for the platform.

Any plans for more languages?

The Urantia community is global and we are dedicated to reaching and including as much of our community as we can. As our subscriber base grows, we plan to allocate funds towards translations into what we hope will be a growing list of languages. For this we ask for your support and your patience.
